Serageldin awarded Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize

24 Feb 2010 Alexandria, 24 February 2010 -- A distinguished delegation from Ghana arrived today in Serageldin’s office, as directed by HRM Otumfo Osei Tutu II, King of Ashanti, the biggest tribe in Ghana, to announce to Serageldin that he has been chosen for the Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize 2010. The prize is awarded by Ghana’s Excellence Awards Foundation, a private institution established in 1999, which presents the Millennium Excellence Award every five years, to honor outstanding achievement by individuals who have selflessly served the continent of Africa and contributed to its socio-economic development. The delegation, made up of Professor Atukwei Okai, Chairman of the Board of Governors; Honorable Samia Nkrumah (Daughter of Kwame Nkrumah), Vice Chairman; Sapna Muhki and Lovelace Prempeh, Governors, also came to invite Serageldin to the award ceremony to be held in Accra on 4 December 2010, which will be a national event attended by a great number of people from all over Africa, as well as African royalty and heads of state.
