Eliane Metni
Eliane Metni is the founding director of the International Education Association, an NGO committed to global education and to the capacity building of learning communities based on the effective use of Information Communication Technology (ICT), globally with a focus on the Arab World. Eliane has extensive experience in designing and implementing online multi-lingual educational solutions. She created an Arabic-English portal for Yemeni educators. Her unique methodology helped them to embrace English as a continuum to their native language in the learning process.
She also designed and managed multi-lingual e-learning solutions that are being used on a daily basis such as iEARN teachers’ professional development courses methodology, involving over 300 teachers and 10,000 students in 40 countries around the world. The iEARN courses won the 2004 Tech Museum Laureate in the education category. Eliane is a Governing Board Member of iEARN-Arabia, a regional network launched in Egypt in 2005, and is currently present in almost all Arab speaking countries.
Eliane holds a MA in education, Online Learning and Teaching from the California State University of Hayward and a BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
