Magued Osman
MAGUED OSMAN (PhD) is Former Minister of Communications and Information Technology; and CEO and Managing Director of Baseera–Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research, Egypt. Dr. Osman is one of the Pioneers of Statistics and national information in Egypt; He is a Professor, at the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. He has an extensive technical and consultancy experience in the fields of poverty targeting, statistical policies, and public policy for a number of prestigious local, regional institutions, and international organizations; such as Ministry of Urban and Rural Development, Saudi Arabia., The Economic Research Forum (ERF), UNIEF, The Canadian International Development Research Center, UNDP, UNCTAD. He is also an active member at the Health and Population Committee at the National Democratic Party of Egypt, and member of the among others following national committees: Ministerial Group for Human Development.Advisory Committee – Ministry of Higher Education.Fund of the Civil Affairs System – Sector of the Civil Affairs Authority – Ministry of Interior.In addition, Dr. Osman is a member of the International Association for Statistical Education and the American Statistical Association, International Association for Statistical Education, American Public Health Association, and Population Association of America. Dr. Osman held position as the director of the Cairo Demographic Center. Dr. Magued Osman has a Ph.D., and an M.S., in Biostatistics from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA., in addition, to holding, and M.Sc., and in Applied Statistics - Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt. He participated in numerous international, regional, and local Conferences and has several Publications and books published nationwide and abroad.
