Dina Shehata
Dr. Shehata is a senior researcher at Al Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Politics from George Town University and an MA in Political Theory from the London School of Economics. Her areas of interest include the study of opposition movements in the Arab world and the study of authoritarian politics and democratic transitions in comparative perspective, with special emphasis on the Arab region. Dr. Shehata's publications include Islamists and Secularists in Egypt: Opposition, Conflict and Cooperation (Routledge 2009), Conflict, Identity and Reform in the Muslim World (USIP, 2009) and The Return of Politics: New Social Movements in Egypt (Al Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, 2010).
