Ahmed Soliman
(Ph.D. University of Liverpool 1985) Professor of urban planning and housing Studies and holds the Chair of Architecture Department in the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University, Egypt. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Architectural Engineering at Beirut Arab University, Lebanon from 2000 until 2004. He has published widely on issues of urban planning, architecture, urban housing and informal settlements. He has conducted extensive studies on informal housing, urban planning movements in comparative perspective since the 1980s, the non-movements of the urban poor, and women, and on the politics.
