Loay ElShawarby
Born in 1973, Alexandria, Egypt.
Of-Counsel with Zaki Hashem & Partners, in charge of the firm’s evolving practices on international trade and competition laws.
In 2004-2005, Mr. El-Shawarby was as a visiting fellow with the Middle East Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. His research interests at CSIS focused on WTO accession and post compliance issues for Middle Eastern countries, as well as U.S. FTAs in the region. Mr. El-Shawarby’s earlier legal career (2000-2004) included advising on investment issues in the Middle East, contracts, and international commercial arbitration.
