Azza Elkholy

Azza El-Kholy is a Professor of American Literature and Former Chairperson of the English Department at Alexandria University. She holds her MA and PhD from Alexandria University.She was Executive Director of the TAFL (Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language) Center, and Director of the Language and Translation Unit at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University. She is currently Head of Academic Research Sector at the BA. Professor El-Kholy is also a consultant for the National Translation Project in Egypt, and an editor of the northern volume of the Feminist Press project: Women Writing Africa, published in 2009. Her research interests include feminist criticism, women’s issues, 19th century American literature, translation, and peace and conflict studies.
