Christian Fassotte

Christian Fassotte, MD, FBCPM, FFPM, is Vice-President of Medical and Scientific Affairs Intercontinental for Sanofi, France, since 2007. He is also a member of the corporate R&D Management Board. Christian Fassotte is responsible for developing and implementing Regional Medical and R&D strategies, ensuring their performance and identifying issues and opportunities to improve healthcare in the Intercontinental Region taking into account the specific unmet needs. Christian Fassotte joined the group in 1998 as Medical and Clinical Research Director in Belgium, and has also been Scientific Director in Spain. Christian Fassotte has a career matching the one of a Global Health Care Physician; as before joining Sanofi, he practiced medicine for 3 years, then joined the Health Care industry in Medical Devices (3M) where he held positions in Medical, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing. He then joined Roche where he held Medical, Regulatory and Clinical Research positions in Belgium and The Netherlands, before going to Switzerland as Global Regulatory Head, and Global Head of Clinical Development both for the Consumer Health Care division. All the above account for 23 years experience in the health care industry. Christian received an MD degree from Liege University; and specialized in Pharmaceutical Medicine both in the UK, Belgium, Brussels and London.
