Nadia Oweidat
Ms. Oweidat is a pursuing a doctorate in Oriental studies at Oxford University, focusing on Arab and Islamic Thought. Her studies are funded by a leadership scholarship entitled, Lord Weidenfeld Leadership Program. Prior to starting her doctoral studies, Nadia worked as a research associate for the RAND Corporation. At RAND, Ms. Oweidat actively researched Islamic extremism and counter terrorism strategies. Some of the subjects she has researched and written about include the ideological evolution of al-Qaeda from 1984-1996, salafi jihadi networks, jihadi strategies in Iraq, Iranian ascendancy in the Arab world, and radicalization of Muslim youth. Ms. Oweidat also led a project on the Egyptian reform movement Kefaya and one on constructive Arab voices and obstacles to their decimation.
